Marching on through MARCH

I really need to do more blogging, I used to love writing my thoughts and activities on this page but it seems lately life has swept me along.  First I got a job cleaning, that turned into two which turned into three and now I have four houses.  It is a little overwhelming in the holidays when everyone is here at once, but it's good to have.

As for March, well one little lad in our house achieved a great deal in March.  First Benjamin got his first Fleche - Bronze, for his first ever downhill slalom, then he completed his three month pre ski club course with a Gold, and then he bettered his time in another downhill slalom and finished with Fleche Silver.  He has now been chosen for the Ski Club.  That opens lots of doors in competition ski which he is really keen on, and to advance to have to belong to club, so it's Praz all the way.

Benjamin also came first in his downhill race in Megeve..........

First place with his best friend in fourth.

As I said I am working in four places now, this is one of them,  had to enlist the help of my husband to clear the snow.  It came down.

Pretty snowy day here in the car park of the ski slope

Friends came to stay too, this Germain and Tom at Tom's 11th birthday......

Carnival at school, big in France, the kids dress up and have fun.

In March we finally managed to get a few days of yoonering.  I love this as I don't ski so I can pootle along the slopes and have fun with everyone.

And of course in snowy weather we always make time for MOVIES.

2015

Well half way through January and finally we had snow.  I have started working as a Chalet Maid and I hate it.  It's good to have work though, but cleaning other peoples toilets is really not my cup of tea.   I seem to be good at it though as I now have 4 chalets and one apartment on my books.  It's well paid and very flexible with some of the owners coming only in the holidays so it works for now.

The snow was so late this year, nothing in December with tourists being very grumpy and taking it out on the locals.  Samuel has started snowboard though and for a child with many many problems I am so proud of him.  He has stuck this out, which is really not easy in the beginning but has now hit the bigger slopes.  Of course it means me standing for hours on a freezing slope but that's what parents are for right.

This was our Christmas day......

Our dessert from the bakery, such cute Christmas logs

Benjamin took the photo.  We had burnt lamb, I forgot how time consuming looking after a newborn is.  Need to practice my multi-tasking a bit more.

SNOW FUN......

Yoonering again, this is so fun and you don't need to know how to ski.

The kids tried out their hand at trick surf.

FUN IN THE WOODS..........

And then in February all the snow seemed to come in a week..............

So now we have February sunshine which is nice, it hasn't been the easiest of seasons this year, very cold, rain, not much snow to start but every year is different which is nice.

CHRISTMAS IN SALLANCHES

Sallanches is our closest BIG town, and they do a more child like friendly Christmas opening compared to all the pomp in Megeve.

DECEMBER AND NO SNOW

Well December came and went and seriously with no snow.  For a ski station this is the end, but we still managed a little ski and my friends came to visit.

Megeve - 6 km from us all dressed up for Christmas

Do you know the kids received a thank you letter from Pere Noel first time.
