JUST STUFF

Well life is carrying on whilst my husband is working in Miami and my parents have taken my kids to the UK.  It's been almost two weeks and I'm counting down the days to Wednesday when I see them again. Meanwhile work is going, Two weeks in and not a single day off, I'm exhausted and this week it's just mounting again, two birthday parties, BBQ evening and a lunch for 40 people, already panicking.  My business partner just seems to think it all happens by the click of a finger and magics itself our of thin air.  Anyway I'm trying to plan our holiday back to South Africa in November/December and can't wait for the break.  In the meantime I'll just keep plodding on.

IN the last week of school, the kids walked up the mountain, granted we had to drop them half way up but it's quiet a day out never the less.  Samuel took a camera.

This believe it or not is a Marmot, Samuel was dying to see one and they stumbled on an entire family, he only managed to take this one blurry shot though.  It's a groundhog in English.

FISH AND POETRY

The kids went fishing with grandma and Grandpa the other day and the both CAUGHT A FISH.  Lac Javen is a really great place to fish with kids because you are guaranteed to catch a trout, and catch them they did.  We ended up with 6 for dinner.  They were superb. Samuel my big fisherman who has been fishing - let me re-phrase that - we have been buying him a fishing licence for 3 years, has never caught a fish.  So this was an exciting, except he wouldn't handle the fish.  Can't win em all.

So kids are in the UK, Manu's in Miami, Grandparents (the kids not mine) also in the UK with the kids, so I am very quiet in my big house.  Took a walk this morning along the river.  The entire river is now a Chemin Litteraire.   The schools, and people of Praz have written poems and put them in the woods.  It's really great.

This is my walk this morning.

SCHOOL'S OUT

Yip all over and to restart in September.  My parents also arrived and are here till September and I seem to be the only one working this summer.  My rest is in the snow time.  So end of year concert in the form of 'Fete de l'ecole'.  And it rained the entire day stopping at 6pm so we all rushed up to the school to watch the kids perform.

It was to the theme - Cirque - or Circus as the school went away in April for a week to perform all sorts of circus tricks.

After that Barabelles finally had it's inauguration.  We invited just the shop keepers and it was a good turn out. I did South African style snacks - Bobotie tarts, Egg Mimosa, Chicken Tika, Corn Fritters.  A huge success.
